Facebook in Journalism

I have been waiting for a piece like this for quite some time. Vadim Lavrusik at Nieman Journalism Lab introduces how journalist can use Facebook, specifically, as a journalistic tool in writing or reporting.

Hundreds of thousands of journalists have been using Facebook as a proficient channel to deliver and discover news. Lavrusik walks us through the various ways available through Facebook journalists can take advantage of for news distribution, storytelling, personal branding, revealing breaking news, curating news stream and encouraging writer-reader interactions.

Lavrusik was recently moved to fill Facebook’s first Journalist Program Manager‘s position while continue adjunct teaching at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He was previously the community manager and social media strategist at Mashable.
