Siri: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly via Mashable

It’s been a month since the Siri was launched with the new iPhone 4S and many responses about this voice-controlled assistant flood the sites of technology. Mashable puts together a sum of all praises and complaints about this still-beta, real-time application.

  1. It’s fun to play with! High in entertaining value – Contains dry witticisms.
    See for yourself, many videos are available on YouTube that  users post about their (mostly hilarious) experience with Ms Siri.
  2. Proven practical usage – It really works.
    Users reported that Siri is very helpful locating weather, restaurants, and data.
  3. Poor in accent recognition – Unintentional misunderstanding.
    Go back to YouTube and look for more funny encounters of Siri with foreign users with accents. Mind you, some of them are really frustrating.
  4. Server problems – Only Apple has the control.
    Besides the November 3 holiday that Siri took, many users reported that they usually need to wait for awhile for Siri to respond to their questions. Sometimes it may be too long, depending on how busy Apple’s server is.
